Painful - Twilight fans review Bram Stoker’s Dracula (incidentally, the Kindle Edition of Dracula is free).

Dracula is not difficult. At all.
Okay, I don’t approve of people tackling this book expecting present-day vampires and being disappointed, because in general, present-day vampire stories can’t compare to the dawn of vampire stories (although, of course, there are exceptions, such as Anne Rice’s books). It’s not uncommon for “creatures” (for lack of a better term) such as vampires or werewolves to be somewhat bastardized as we get farther and farther from the dates of their origin stories, but there’s a vast amount of difference between a vampire like Dracula, and a vampire like Edward. They can’t be compared properly.
But, having said that, I don’t like Dracula, either.
Dracula was the first classic I tackled that wasn’t required for school ;_; I read it the summer before my freshman year of high school. When I was 13, yes the beginning was boring.
I JUST LOVE THIS BOOK OK?
sad. this is sad.
